The Mandatory Indian Recipe : Ghee Wale Besan k Ladoo (Gram Flour Sweet)

Trust me when I say that the photo is NOT misleading !! The ladoos actually glistened and glowed and the mixture (unlike the normal quite solid ones) is little gooey and melts in the mouth and u can taste the ghee, the sugar and the besan (gram flour) flavors striking your pallet all at once !!

On The Plate : Besan k Ladoo (Gram Flour Recipe)

Estimated Time : Approx 20 – 25 Β min

Ingredients :-

  • 10 tbsp of ghee/ clarified butter
  • 1 cup of besan/ grm flour
  • 1 cup of icing sugar

The Process :-

  • Heat about 2 tbsp of ghee/ clarifies butter in a non stick pan
  • Add 1 cup of besan ( gram flour) to it and keep stirring, avoid making lumps. Cook the mixture for about a minute or two till it starts turning golden brown and you can smell the strong aroma
  • Add 2 tbsp of ghee again in 5 min and keep stirring
  • Repeat the above process of adding the ghee/ clarified butter for almost 4-5 times in batches till you break all lumps of the mixture and you get a semi liquid gooey mixture ( unlike the solid based ones like I have said before )
  • Add 1 cup of icing sugar and mix it well till you get a almost smooth mixture ( do not over mix) . We have taken the icing sugar to maintain a smooth fine surface of the ladoo unlike other coarse ones
  • Once the mixture is mixed well and cool enough start taking small amounts of it and make circles of them with soft hands (preferable wet your palms with little ghee before doing this)
